The stamp support is well-suited for those who throw and find it difficult to achieve a clear impression on the piece base without it distorting. It is also just as useful for hand-builders, modelers, or anyone working with other techniques where the base needs to be stamped after it has been attached to the piece.
For best results, your piece should be leather-hard. If the clay is too wet, it won’t be able to support itself.
Place the stamping support on the table, turn your piece upside down, and set it over the support so the base rests securely on top. You can now stamp your makers mark onto the bottom of your work.
